Privacy policy
Paul Giles (ABN 65 670 661 363), trading as Paul Giles Beds & Mattresses ("we", "us"), respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect and how we use it. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles.
What we collect
- When you order: your name, delivery and billing address, phone number, email address and order details. Card payments are processed securely by Shopify and our payment providers. We never see or store your full card number.
- When you contact us through our website form, by phone, by email or in store: your name, contact details and your message.
- If you sign up to our newsletter: your email address.
- When you browse our website: standard technical information such as your device, browser and the pages you visit. This is collected through cookies by our website platform, Shopify, to keep the site and your cart working and to understand how the site is used.
How we use it
- To process, deliver and support your order, including booking delivery and old mattress removal.
- To respond to your questions and handle warranty claims, including passing the details needed to the manufacturer.
- To send you our newsletter, only if you've signed up. Every email identifies us and has an unsubscribe link, and we act on unsubscribes promptly, as the Spam Act 2003 requires.
- To improve our website and service, and to meet our legal and tax obligations.
Who we share it with
We only share personal information with the people who help us serve you: Shopify (our online store platform) and our payment providers, our delivery team and, where needed, freight companies, manufacturers for warranty claims, and our accountant. Some of these providers, such as Shopify, may store information outside Australia. We don't sell your personal information.
Cookies
Our website uses cookies to remember your cart and preferences and to see which pages are useful. You can block cookies in your browser settings, but some parts of the site, such as the cart, may not work properly.
Keeping it safe, and your choices
We take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access. You can ask to see or correct the personal information we hold about you, or make a privacy complaint, by contacting us using the details below. We'll respond within 30 days. If you're not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
